Terms of Use
These Terms of Use form a binding agreement between you and the operator of this website. If you do not agree to every provision below, you must stop using the site immediately.
Effective & last updated: August 1, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, linking to, or otherwise using marvinnc.com (the “Site”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, and all disclaimers published on the Site (collectively, the “Terms”). If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. If you do not agree, your sole remedy is to discontinue use.
We may revise these Terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The version posted on this page is the operative version.
2. Nature of the Site — Informational Only
The Site is an independent editorial destination guide about Marvin, North Carolina and the surrounding South Charlotte region. It is not a real estate brokerage, licensed builder, general contractor, appraiser, school, government agency, insurer, lender, travel agency, or professional advisory firm, and it does not provide any regulated professional service.
No content on the site constitutes legal, financial, investment, tax, insurance, real estate, appraisal, engineering, construction, medical, educational, or other professional advice, and no content should be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a qualified licensed professional.
Nothing on the Site creates an agency, brokerage, fiduciary, partnership, employment, joint venture, contractor-client, or professional-advisory relationship between you and us.
3. Accuracy, Errors, and Changes
We make a good-faith effort to present accurate, useful, and current information, and to correct errors when we learn of them. Despite those efforts, the Site may contain typographical errors, factual inaccuracies, outdated figures, incomplete summaries, mis-stated boundaries, superseded school assignments, stale pricing or market data, or content produced or summarized with the assistance of automated and AI-based tools.
All information is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of accuracy or completeness. You must independently verify any information before relying on it or acting on it.
Authoritative confirmation should always be obtained from the primary source — for example, Union County Public Schools for school attendance zones, the Town of Marvin or Union County for zoning, permitting, taxes and parcel data, a licensed North Carolina real estate broker for property and market matters, a licensed general contractor for construction matters, and a licensed attorney for legal matters.
4. Limited License and Intellectual Property
All text, editorial copy, layout, design, graphics, illustrations, photographs, generated imagery, maps, compilations, code, and other material on the Site (the “Content”) are owned by the Site operator or its licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, trade dress, and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view and print Content for your own personal, non-commercial reference. You may not, without prior written permission: copy, reproduce, republish, mirror, frame, sell, license, or distribute the Content; use it to train, fine-tune, or ground any machine-learning model; scrape, crawl, harvest, or systematically extract the Content by automated means; remove or alter proprietary notices; or use any trademark, name, or logo appearing on the Site.
Third-party names, marks, and logos referenced on the Site remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and editorial reference only.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Site to:
- violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, or any connected system, or to probe, scan, or test its vulnerability;
- introduce malware, or interfere with the operation, integrity, availability, or performance of the Site;
- impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- use automated tools to overload, mass-download, or commercially exploit the Site or its Content.
We may restrict or terminate your access to the Site at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability.
6. Third-Party Links, Businesses, and References
The Site links to and discusses third-party websites, businesses, neighborhoods, developments, schools, restaurants, service providers, builders, designers, brokers, and other organizations. Those references are editorial and informational only.
A mention, listing, ranking, feature, hyperlink, or description is not an endorsement, certification, guarantee, warranty, or representation of quality, licensure, insurance, competence, availability, pricing, or suitability.
We do not control third-party sites or businesses and are not responsible for their content, products, services, policies, conduct, availability, or data practices. Your dealings with any third party are solely between you and that third party. You are solely responsible for your own due diligence, including verifying licenses, insurance, references, contracts, and compliance.
7. Material Relationship Disclosure
The Site operator and its affiliates may own, operate, invest in, work with, be related to, or receive direct or indirect compensation or referral value from businesses referenced on the Site, including businesses in home building, interior design, real estate brokerage, audio/video integration, travel, and community development. Content may therefore reflect relationships that are not independent or impartial, and should not be read as neutral third-party review or verified factual reporting.
8. Fair Housing and Non-Discrimination
Any discussion of neighborhoods, communities, schools, or housing on the Site is intended to comply with the federal Fair Housing Act, the North Carolina Fair Housing Act, and all applicable equal-opportunity housing laws. Nothing on the Site is intended to indicate any preference, limitation, or discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, familial status, national origin, disability, or any other protected class, nor to steer any person toward or away from any area. All housing referenced is subject to equal opportunity.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The site and all content are provided “as is,” “as available,” and “with all faults.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, timely, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the site operator, its owners, officers, members, affiliates, contributors, contractors, licensors, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunity, goodwill, or property, arising out of or related to your access to, use of, or inability to use the site or any content, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, statute, or any other theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100.00).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Site operator and its owners, affiliates, contributors, and agents from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, liabilities, judgments, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law or third-party right, or any decision, transaction, contract, or dispute you enter into with a third party referenced on the Site.
12. Assumption of Risk and Release
You use the Site voluntarily and at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, you release the Site operator from all claims arising from your reliance on Content, including claims relating to property purchases or sales, school enrollment or assignment decisions, relocation decisions, construction or renovation decisions, travel decisions, and financial outcomes.
13. Governing Law, Venue, and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms shall be resolved exclusively by binding individual arbitration administered under the rules of a recognized arbitration provider, seated in Union County or Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, except that either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property.
You and we each waive any right to a jury trial and any right to participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. Any claim must be brought within one (1) year after it arises or it is permanently barred.
14. Severability, Waiver, and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and posted disclaimers, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site.
15. No Contact Channel
The Site is intentionally published without contact forms, telephone numbers, or general inquiry email addresses. It does not solicit inquiries, submissions, leads, or unsolicited ideas, and no confidential or fiduciary duty arises from any attempt to communicate through it. The sole exception is a single address designated exclusively for statutory legal notices, as described in the Copyright / DMCA policy; formal legal notices, including copyright complaints, must follow that procedure.
